India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against two key individuals involved in the March 2025 grenade attack on YouTuber Roger Sandhu’s residence in Jalandhar, Punjab.
Key Details of the Charges:
The Accused: * Shehzad Bhatti: A Pakistani gangster identified as the mastermind who orchestrated the attack from abroad. He has been declared an absconder.
Dipander Pratap Singh (alias Deepan Rana): A local facilitator currently under arrest for providing logistical support, illegal arms, and explosives.
The Charges: Both men are charged under the UA(P) Act, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and BNS 2023.
The Conspiracy: NIA investigations reveal the attack was part of a broader terror network focused on targeted killings, arms smuggling, and recruitment within India using encrypted communications.
Case Background:
The Incident: A grenade was lobbed at Sandhu’s home in Raipur Rasoolpur village during the early hours of March 16, 2025.
Investigation Shift: Initially handled by Punjab Police (who chargesheeted nine others), the NIA took over the case in December 2025 to uncover deeper terror links.
Current Status: * 10 total arrests have been made so far.
7 suspects, including Shehzad Bhatti, remain at large (absconding).
The NIA continues its efforts to track down the remaining fugitives and dismantle the linked terror modules.
